The Rhythm Nation Dance Convention competition is open to dancers aged 12 and over, who do not derive any or all of their income through dance related employment, and who are registered for the entire convention.

The competition is designed to give one dancer the opportunity to learn from the best teachers and choreographers at a seasonal commercial dance summer school.

The Rhythm Nation Dance Convention winner will receive a scholarship to an interstate seasonal commercial dance summer school. All flights and tuition will be included in the scholarship package.

One runner up will receive $400 cash and another will receive $200 to spend on dance tuition or resources of their choice.

• Entry is by video submission only- On DVD or VHS formats and must be received by the first day of the convention.
• All finalists will be announced on the second day, and will be expected to perform in the finals on the last day of the convention to a panel of the faculty, who will adjudicate.
• All competitors must register prior to September 4th 2010.
• Late entries will not be accepted
• Only one solo per dancer is allowed, with no restrictions on the style of dance entered.
• Solos must be no longer than 3 minutes duration

Solos must be rehearsed prior to the convention. Costumes are recommended.

Rhythm nation dance convention reserves the right to refuse any entry, and the judges decision will be deemed final. There will be no forum for protest.
